This dot matrix LED 8x8 display module allows a user to experiment with dot matrix LED's without all the complicated wiring and display any numbers and characters on it through programming. This module used MAX7219 chip of serial matrix LED driver which controls the 8x8 red LEDs and drive them at the correct currents. It comes with 5 pins to be interfaced with microcontroller, which are the VCC, GND, DIN (data in), CS (load) and CLK (clock). It consists of input and output interface to be connected to the microcontroller and cascaded out with multiple dot matrix LED 8x8 display module to make larger LED displays.
A convenient four-wire serial interface can connect all common microprocessor. Each data can be addressed in the update does not overwrite all of the display. It also allows the user to select each of the data code or not coded.
